about love

i was laying in bed this morning talking with God and the topic of love came up. i got the revelation that love is not about a person's qualities or personality but loving a person is loving who they are. this may not seeming huge to you but it made so much sense to me. i don't know how to explain it all but love is not a feeling, it is not based on characteristics like a person's height, eye color, or smile. love is from God since he is love. we can only truly love when we have God inside us. i then read 1 John 4:7-21. God is love and when we have his love in us we are then able to love others. this love is not based on anything they have done or said. rather it just flows from God. we don't have to work at producing it or making it happen. it just comes. amazing love straight from God himself.

my day

800 - alarm goes off, i drag myself out of bed turn it off and promptly return to bed and sleep
915 - i wake up after a delightful dream, open my journal to a new page and write it down along with the other two dreams i remember
1000 - get up to use the washroom and brush my teeth
1015 - do devotions
1045 - go on my computer and check email, facebook, and blogs
1130 - kam comes in my room, "oh, you're up, i'm going to take rudi for a walk, can i use your computer?" i sit it my bed for another 20 minutes trying to decide what to wear
100 - i go to take a shower
130 - i'm out of the shower and hungry
135 - make lunch
200 - drive kam to bluenotes so she can return what she bought on saturday
300 - arrive home after purchasing a belt and tank top (all for under 3$), go online to mark virklers website to refresh myself on how to interpret dreams, use spreadsheet to budget my upcoming pay cheque and realize that i don't have enough to buy hairdye, pray for money, email friend, check facebook again
430 - get ready for work
500 - work
930 - arrive home, hungry, eat dinner
945 - watch the finale of the first season of lost, utter dissapointment
1130 - surf internet
100 - wonder what i really did for the past hour and a half, have sneezing fit, get free sweatshirt from kam, contemplate going to bed

Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.
