drive to school

this morning i woke up at 7am for my 8am class. last semester this wouldn't be a problem as i lived on campus. not so for this semester. i live at home - an hour away from school. i didn't even realize that i was late until my mom came into my room at 710 and said liz don't you have class today? oh yeah! at 8 and i have a test! thankfully the test wasn't going to start till 830 but i rushed to get ready in five minutes and was on the road by 720 and was in class by 825. i need a new way of getting to school. the same route to and from is boring and i find myself spacing out. not safe on old country roads with transport trucks coming the opposite way. also today in the class i was late for we were discussing families. our teacher put us in groups to answer some questions about family, culture, and religion. our group had to answer the question on culture and religion. in our teachers words, "you guys can answer this section because your group looks like it comes from different areas". we had two african-americans, two europeans, and one russian. the funny thing is that four of us were christian so that took away from the "different areas". to be fair, culturally we were very different.
i hope tomorrow i wake up on time. better double check the alarm clock.
